Double Garage Door or Twin Single Garage Doors?

This week at Wonderful Homes HQ we’ve been debating whether it’s better to offer home buyers a Double Garage Door or twin Single Garage Doors on the luxury 4 and 5 bedroom homes we are building at our new development “The Coppice” located just north of Sutton Coldfield on the Chester Road in-between Streetly, Aldridge and Little Aston.

Each garage door option has pros and cons;
- A Double Garage Door means only one door to open and it’s far easier to drive in and out, particularly with modern wider cars, but it does mean that when the door is open everyone can see what you’ve got stored in your garage. The double door probably gives the house a more modern look.
- Twin Single Garage Doors mean you can open each door separately, keeping one side for storing stuff maybe, but it can be a squeeze driving modern cars through a single width garage door. Twin single doors probably give the house a more traditional look.

We’re expecting the first plots at The Coppice to be completed and ready to move into in late 2017 / early 2018 and plan to formally launch the development soon. I think two doors would be better as long as the single doors space is wide enough for large cars to enter through each door.

The single doors would be a bit tight for larger cars and the feedback from our social media channels was largely in favour of a single double door. So we’ve decided to run with a single double sectional roller door on the garages.
